Résumé

Cet article examine le potentiel éducatif du film ethnographique dans les sciences sociales. Il soutient que la réalisation ethnographique offre un mode d’apprentissage distinct, fondé sur l’attention, la participation multisensorielle et la production collaborative de connaissances. En s’appuyant sur un travail de terrain mené au refuge Quintino Sella, situé en haute altitude sur le massif du Mont Rose, ainsi que dans les communautés environnantes, l’étude explore comment la pratique filmique transforme la compréhension des relations entre humain·es et environnements pour les chercheur·es comme pour les étudiant·es. En portant attention au monde multidimensionnel qui se situe au-delà de la parole d’entretien et de la trace écrite des notes de terrain, le film ethnographique donne accès à une forme de connaissance multiple, située et participative.

Dans la recherche utilisée comme exemple, les glaciers apparaissent non seulement comme des objets scientifiques ou esthétiques, mais aussi comme des entités relationnelles culturelles, y compris des ressources, des portails ou des icônes, dont les significations se révèlent grâce à des méthodes incarnées et participatives. L’article montre comment les films ethnographiques fonctionnent comme des outils pédagogiques qui favorisent la réflexivité, l’empathie et l’engagement critique dans les contextes d’enseignement et de recherche.
