L’abandon scolaire en Tunisie : état des lieux, caractéristiques et perspectives
Abstract
The phenomenon of drop-out has considerably increased in Tunisia since the 1980s to reach over 100 000 youth in 2012. This is a psychological threshold which reveals the failure of the Tunisian educational system despite the great efforts made in education since the independence in 1956. Based on data from a recent survey on school drop-out as well as on statistics from the Ministry of Education, we sought to study the characteristics of these students and to analyze the underlying reasons that led thousands of young people to abandon their school.
