Résumé

Ce numéro double de la Revue d’Histoire Contemporaine de l’Afrique explore les coopérations et les circulations qui se sont déployées entre et par-delà les empires coloniaux de la fin du xixe siècle aux années 1960. En mettant en perspective des recherches portant sur des thématiques et des espaces géographiques variés, il souhaite, plus précisément, dessiner les contours d’une histoire transimpériale de l’Afrique. Dans ce texte introductif, nous proposons d’abord de revenir sur la généalogie de cette notion et ses enjeux historiographiques. Il s’agit ensuite d’interroger, en s’appuyant sur des terrains empiriques multiples, l’intérêt heuristique d’une telle approche pour éclairer sous un angle original l’histoire du continent. Enfin, nous discutons les problèmes et les défis soulevés par cette démarche, tout en présentant les nouvelles perspectives de recherche que les articles réunis ici permettent d’aborder...Lire la suite
