New Associate Editor positions opening

The community-driven and diamond open access journal Sedimentologika is seeking new associate editors to join its pool of specialists for the upcoming years. 

We are looking for specialists in the following areas 

  • carbonate sedimentology and stratigraphy
  • slope to basin-floor-processes
  • sediment/outcrop -imaging 

Each associate editor will be tasked by an executive editor to manage the review process for articles submitted to the journal. That includes finding adequate reviewers, occasionally reminding reviewers of their commitment, upholding author and reviewer guidelines and Sedimentologika’s Code of Conduct, and communicating reviewer recommendations to the executive editor once the review process is completed.

Please send your CV and a brief line describing why you would like to join Sedimentologika’s editorial team to contact@sedimentologika.org.  We particularly encourage scientists coming from groups less represented in our current editorial board to apply for these positions, which are voluntary-based only. Sedimentologika’s editorial team values mentorship; more junior editors are encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity is to benefit from the expertise of more experienced members.


Join Sedimentologika’s team!

Since launching in November 2022, our Diamond Open Access journal Sedimentologika has steadily grown. As a result, we are looking for volunteers to help our current production team, which is already composed of seven wonderful people.

We are seeking people who are fluent English speakers and writers with experience in scientific writing. The role consists of typesetting and formatting accepted manuscripts and ensuring consistency with Sedimentologika’s author guidelines. Upon selection, you will be mentored by another volunteer who will guide you through Sedimentologika’s production workflow.
