Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in word docx.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements (see Author guidelines section).
  • The text complies with the accessibility rules for documents intended for people with visual impairments. These rules are also indicated on the template (available on guidelines section)
  • Only for research articles (Dossier section): prepare two docx versions of your article: one anonymous version (without the title page and authors) and another complete version.

Dossier

Dossier section publishes empirical, theoretical articles, or literature reviews. These articles undergo a double blind review before publication. The limit is 50,000 characters and spaces (including summaries, tables, figures and references). Annexes are not counted.

Open field

Open field section publishes policy reports, field notes and personal experiences. These can be

a) contributions on new techniques from visual impairment teachers, students and professionals, initiatives or methods to improve inclusion, facilitate learning or give access to content;

b) Testimonial from visually impaired adults or children themselves about new interventions, tools, multisensory devices, or accessibility needs and measures.

c) Translation of textes and biographical writings of personalities who have contributed to the field of visual impairment.

The limit for open field contributions is 30,000 characters and spaces (including summaries, tables, figures and references). Annexes are not counted.

Contributions for Open field section are evaluated by the editorial board only. They may also be complemented by a podcast interview on the journal's website.
