    Review Process

All submitted articles first go through a preliminary review. They are checked against three criteria:

    • Do they fit the journal's scope and focus, i.e., do they fall within the field of cultural linguistics or are they at the interface of cultural linguistics and literary studies?
    • Do they meet the basic textual criteria of comprehensibility, coherence, formal correctness, etc.?
    • Do they fulfill the other requirements (see checklist)?

Texts that do not meet these criteria will be rejected.
Texts that do meet these criteria will be double-blind peer reviewed. Two anonymous external reviewers are asked to evaluate the anonymized manuscript according to defined evaluation criteria. Depending on the outcome of the review, the manuscript can then be rejected, published with more extensive, minor changes or published directly.

An article can only be accepted for publication if both

    have been implemented.

The article is then finally proofread in terms of content and form. The author receives a pre-print for final publication approval.

As the journal is published twice a year, the publication process usually takes three to five months.
