Linguistic research articles present new empirical or theoretical findings in the field of cultural linguistics. These articles must meet standard linguistic requirements, including information on the current state of research, the terminology and categories used, as well as the methods and data. The connection to cultural linguistics (Kulturlinguistik, kulturanalytische Linguistik, linguistische Kulturanalyse) must be clearly established. Linguistic research articles may be up to 80,000 characters in length (including spaces, references, and bibliography).
Each issue typically includes four such articles.
Linguistic-literary research articles are situated at the intersection of cultural linguistics and literary studies. Articles in this category might, for example, analyze literary texts from the perspective of cultural linguistics using linguistic categories and/or methods, or examine non-literary language use through approaches from literary studies, with the aim of uncovering cultural aspects through the analysis of language. Theoretical articles that compare cultural-linguistic and literary approaches are also conceivable. Linguistic-literary research articles may be up to 80,000 characters in length (including spaces, references, and bibliography).
Each issue typically includes one such article.
Contributions to the “Showcase” section present a larger research project in cultural linguistics (e.g., a postdoctoral or habilitation project). These contributions should present the respective project as concretely as possible – for example, by identifying the research gap, stating the research questions, describing the data or sources and methods, and explaining the main hypotheses. Showcase contributions may be up to 20,000 characters in length (including spaces, references, and bibliography).
Each issue aims to include one to three such contributions.
