A private geographical procession from the reign of Ramesses II

Abstract

Two reliefs preserving fragments of geographical processions from the reign of Ramesses II are exceptional in that they are associated not with the king himself, but with Prince Khaemwaset and Queen Isetnofret. A comparison of their iconographic features and compositional layout strongly suggests that they once formed part of a single procession. This was probably inscribed on a monument of the prince at Saqqara in the vicinity of the Serapeum.
