Abstract

This presentation invites to envision a new institution dedicated to addressing certain challenges of work-study programs in teacher education within a space that belongs to neither of the work-study partners (K-12 and higher education)—that is, a third space. At stake would be a renewed form of authority for the key players, aimed at strengthening their ability to publicly articulate a shared responsibility for both professional education and the practice of the profession, with a view to fostering the profession’s social and democratic commitment.
